A One-Day Course on Becoming an Effective Facilitator
Facilitation is often referred to as the new cornerstone of management philosophy. The Facilitation Skills workshop can help any organization make better decisions. This workshop will give participants an understanding of what facilitation is all about, as well as some tools that they can use to facilitate small meetings. A strong understating of how a facilitator can command a room and dictate the pace of a meeting will have your participants on the road to becoming great facilitators themselves.
Define facilitation and identify its purpose and benefits.
Clarify the role and focus of a facilitator.
Differentiate between process and content in the context of a group discussion.
Identify a facilitator’s role when managing groups in each of Tuckman and Jensen’s stages of group development: forming, storming, norming and performing.
Identify ways a facilitator can help a group reach a consensus: from encouraging participation to choosing a solution.
Provide guidelines in dealing with disruptions, dysfunctions and difficult people in groups.

Danny is a great speaker and the review of the audit process is critical because many times, we might think we are being valuable to our institution, but we have some areas that we may lack. The discussions with the audience were helpful because I got to hear similarities and differences among audit shops because everyone has certain ways that they conduct their processes. As still being fairly new to internal audit, this session really opened my eyes more to the audit process and the ways that we should carry ourselves among our colleagues in the institution.

I really enjoyed the aspect of the book that you kept it in a narrative and story style. I think it made it a very quick read and also puts the skills and practices that are referenced in the book as well as your training into real world scenarios.
